Why do hospitals specify ultra isolation transformers?
Two reasons. Imaging and monitoring equipment measures microvolt-level signals, so the noise floor has to be extremely low. And operating theatres and ICUs are typically wired as IT (isolated terra) systems, where an isolation transformer plus an insulation monitoring device means a single earth fault raises an alarm instead of tripping the supply mid-procedure.
