How do I size a frequency converter for a machine?
Rate it against the machine’s starting current, not its running current. A 15 kW motor on direct-on-line start pulls six to eight times full-load current for a second or two, and the converter has to survive that. Send the nameplate and the starting method and we will size it correctly.
