Why does a 15 kVA UPS have a three-phase input but a single-phase output?
Because the load is single phase but the draw is too large to take from one phase of the incoming supply. Rectifying from all three phases balances the load on your connection and keeps the incoming cable and protection sensibly sized, while the inverter still produces the single-phase supply your equipment expects.
240 V or 360 V battery bank on the 15 kVA?
The 360 V bank stores considerably more energy for the same amp-hour cell, so it is the choice where backup time matters. The 240 V bank is twenty cells against thirty, so it costs less and takes less floor space. Tell us the runtime you need and the answer follows from it.
