How many batteries does a 30 kVA UPS need?
The 360 V bus is thirty 12 V batteries in series. Amp-hour rating per cell is what sets runtime, and it is chosen against the backup time you specify rather than fixed by the UPS.
How much heat does a 30 kVA UPS put into the room?
At up to 96% efficiency a fully loaded 30 kVA unit rejects roughly a kilowatt as heat. The battery bank adds to that under charge, which is why the bank belongs somewhere ventilated rather than in a sealed cupboard.
